See.Sense: the smart bike light

ICON builds on their success of their first product, with its intelligent features making it the only bike light in the world that can react to roundabouts, road-junctions and even to approaching car headlights at night, making the cyclist more visible in these riskier scenarios.

Designed specifically for daylight visibility, ICON uses CREE LED’s and advanced optics to give the rider excellent focused as well as side illumination. All of these features are contained in lightweight, compact package, and with a superb run-time of more than 15 hours.

The mind-blowing feature of the new ICON light, is how it adds optional smartphone connection and an accompanying free app to light. Hailed by Bike Radar as, ‘The smartest bike lights in the history of bike lights' and by road.cc as ‘a real innovation in the field’, ICON offers cyclists never before seen features in a light, such as alerts to notify their nominated contact in case of a crash and sending theft detection alerts to the cyclists’ phone if their bike moves when they are not on it.

With connectivity, ICON has a unique ability to future proof the product, so that as new features are added, cyclists can simply update their app and firmware over the air. It also provides a way to easily control the lights, check their battery level and optimise the brightness and runtime.

Excitingly, ICON will soon allow the cyclist the choice to share data about their ride such as crash and near-miss events as well as early pothole detection – meaning cyclists could provide the sensor network infrastructure that enables cities to improve road infrastructure and create smart cities.

Visit the See.Sense team at stand LB602 to see ICON in action between 11 – 14th February at the London Bike Show, Excel, London. ICON will also be exhibiting at the IoT Tech Expo on 10-11th February, Olympia, London.
